Matt Kunard has been running boats on Lake Travis for 13 years. He is a military veteran, a USCG licensed captain, CPR certified, and a first responder with decades of experience handling situations most people never see. That background is the reason his charters feel so easy. He reads the water, the weather, and the group, and he adjusts before anyone has to ask.
Longtab Charters is veteran-owned and operated. It is Matt's boat and Matt's business, which means when you book, you get Matt. No rotating crew, no surprises at the dock. Just a captain who knows the lake better than most people know their neighborhood and wants your group to have a great day.

Safety Is the Whole Point
A good day on the water starts with a captain who takes safety seriously so you do not have to. Here is how Longtab Charters runs every trip:
Licensed and certified.
Captain Matt holds a USCG captain's license and is CPR certified. He is also a veteran and first responder trained to handle emergencies calmly.
Life jackets on board.
Coast Guard approved adult life jackets for every guest. Bringing kids? Please bring their life jackets so we have the right fit.
Weather calls made early.
If any part of your charter is cancelled due to weather, you get a free reschedule or a full refund. No exceptions.

Good to Know Before You Book
Frequently Asked Questions
Up to 8 adults per charter aboard our Cobalt 276. If your group is larger, call us and we will figure out the best option.
No. Pricing is per charter, so the whole group splits one price. A four-hour Party Cruise is $700 total, whether you bring two people or eight.
Charters depart from Point Venture, TX. If it is easier, Captain Matt will pick you up anywhere on Lake Travis within 30 minutes of Point Venture at no charge. Pickups farther out add a $50 fuel surcharge.
Yes. Water and Gatorade are provided on ice. Everything else is bring-your-own. No glass bottles, wine, or fruity drinks that stain. The captain does not drink on any charter.
Yes. The only exception is a pickup more than 30 minutes from Point Venture, which adds a $50 fuel surcharge.
Book online with a card. A 50% deposit holds your date, and the balance is due at the time of the charter.
Cancel 24 hours or more before your charter and your deposit is refunded in full. Cancel the day of and 30% is kept.
Captain Matt makes the call on safety. If any part of your charter is cancelled due to weather, you get a free reschedule or a full refund.
Absolutely. Every charter includes stops in calm coves. Adult life jackets are provided.
Yes. The Family Day charter is built for it, but kids are welcome on any trip. Please bring life jackets for the kids so we have the right fit.
